Daniel Trappler, Senior Director of Development, Sub-Sahara Africa at Radisson Hotel Group, provided valuable insights into the Group’s strategic plan to achieve its ambitious target of 25 hotels by 2030. He emphasized the importance of prioritizing conversions for quicker market entry, whether through management or franchise models, and exploring strategic partnerships with existing management companies to expand their presence. Additionally, Trappler mentioned the potential introduction of the Radisson Individuals brand to South Africa as a strategic move, particularly for individual hotels with high service ratings looking to transition to other core brands in the future. The Group is also focused on expanding its upper-upscale portfolio and entering the lifestyle luxury market in Cape Town with the Radisson Collection and art’otel brands, capitalizing on the city’s robust tourism industry and their successful existing portfolio.
