The African Tourism Board (ATB) has reaffirmed that Tanzania remains a safe and welcoming destination, despite recent travel advisories issued by several Western nations citing political unrest and human rights concerns. ATB officials stress that tourism operations across the country continue uninterrupted and that visitor confidence remains strong.

The advisories followed isolated protests in Dar es Salaam in late October linked to alleged election irregularities. Local authorities confirm the situation has since stabilized, with no impact on tourism zones. Major tour operators and airlines, including TUI and Qatar Airways, report rising bookings, reflecting continued demand for Tanzanian experiences.

The Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (TATO), representing over 450 operators, reports no incidents involving tourists. Tanzania National Parks (TANAPA) confirms all major wildlife destinations and conservation areas remain fully operational.

Tanzania registered 48,116 international arrivals in the first two weeks of November 2025, underscoring the sector’s resilience. The country also maintains a unique, dedicated agency—the Tourism Sector Safety and Protection (TTSSP)—focused exclusively on visitor safety.

ATB Chairman Cuthbert Ncube urged travelers to rely on verified regional information, noting: “Tanzania continues to provide a secure and exceptional experience for visitors.”
