Starting from 17 June, Vietnam Airlines, the national flag carrier, will commence direct flights from Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to Manila. This marks a significant milestone as it becomes the first Vietnamese airline to offer direct flights to the capital of the Philippines. The Hanoi – Manila route will operate three times a week, specifically on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. On the other hand, the Ho Chi Minh City – Manila route will have four weekly flights, scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays. Vietnam Airlines passengers on both routes will have the option to choose between Economy and Business class cabins, with the flights being operated by Airbus A321 aircraft.
The establishment of these new routes signifies a significant achievement in Vietnam Airlines’ strategy for expanding its international flight network. By connecting Manila, Hanoi, and Ho Chi Minh City, three prominent economic centers in Southeast Asia, this development paves the way for enhanced economic, cultural, and tourism exchanges between Vietnam, the Philippines, and the wider Southeast Asian region.
