Qatar Airways successfully completed its inaugural flight to Hamburg Airport (HAM) in Germany yesterday, officially commencing daily non-stop flights from Hamad International Airport (DOH) in Doha, Qatar. This new route launch comes after Hamad International Airport was recognized as the Best Airport and Retail in the World by Skytrax this year.
Hamburg now joins Berlin, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, and Munich as Qatar Airways‘ fifth destination in Germany, catering to the increasing demand in the market. The airline experienced a significant 62% growth in outbound passengers from Germany in 2023 compared to the previous year.
The additional route enhances the airline’s extensive network of over 170 destinations globally, providing a smooth link for travelers from northern Germany to Doha and beyond. This development also enhances accessibility to the vibrant city of Hamburg for individuals worldwide. Furthermore, the route contributes to strengthening economic and trade ties between northern Germany, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. It is anticipated that the flights will result in an up to 11 percent increase in Hamburg’s cargo sector compared to the previous year.
