Aeromexico is set to introduce its third route in Colombia by establishing a daily direct flight that will link Mexico City International Airport (AICM) with Rafael Nunez International Airport in Cartagena. This new service is scheduled to commence on February 20, 2025, just prior to the Cartagena Carnival.
Having commenced operations in Colombia 14 years ago with its inaugural route to Bogota, followed by a subsequent route to Medellin, Aeromexico will now enhance its presence in the market. The airline will provide a total of 70 weekly flights to Colombia, encompassing both arrivals and departures, marking a 25% increase in capacity and offering a total of 11,600 seats each week.
New route will be operated using Boeing 737 MAX aircraft, which can accommodate 166 passengers: 16 in Premier Class, 18 in AM Plus, and 132 in the Main Cabin. This aircraft model is particularly suited for short to medium-haul flights and features a fully tailored cabin design that provides increased seat spacing, 10-inch touch screens in the Main Cabin, and 13-inch screens in Premier Class.
