As of July 17, 2024, Air Canada NDC offers can now be accessed by travel agents and other travel sellers in various markets including Canada, Australia, Brazil, Denmark, France, Germany, Hong Kong, India, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and the United States. In the future, the focus will be on activating new markets based on demand, following the successful launch in these countries.
Air Canada and Sabre are dedicated to enhancing travel retailing in order to enhance personalized experiences for travelers. NDC plays a crucial role in achieving this common objective. It offers the necessary technology infrastructure to broaden offer-and order-based retailing from airlines to third-party travel sellers, including travel agencies and online booking tools. Through the implementation of NDC via Sabre, travel sellers can retain their competitive advantage by optimizing their access to Air Canada’s content.
According to Mark Nasr, Executive Vice President, Marketing and Digital at Air Canada, travel trade partners, ranging from local independent agencies to large corporate travel management companies, are vital to the airline’s commercial success. Nasr highlighted the commitment to ensuring a seamless transition for trade partners to connect with Air Canada through their preferred methods.
