Hotel Belmar in Costa Rica is thrilled to show its support and embrace the LGBTQI+ community this summer through its 2024 Live & Proud events. On June 22nd, the hotel cordially invites guests to take part in the LGBTQI+ workshop titled “LGBTQI+ Social Activism, Empowerment, and Leadership in Rural Communities.” This event will specifically highlight the success of queer movements that have flourished beyond the confines of traditional urban areas. Additionally, there will be a comprehensive presentation on the history of LGBTQI+ rights. Throughout these events and the entire month of June, Hotel Belmar will generously donate 10% of the proceeds from every craft beer sold to Monteverde Diverso, a local grassroots organization dedicated to advocacy and support for the LGBTQI+ community.
Earlier this year, the hotel partnered with Monteverde Diverso to commemorate the second edition of Monteverde’s Pride parade. Cerveceria Belmar, the hotel’s own bar and brewery, marked the occasion with live music, while also participating in various local activities such as outdoor cinema and workshops that aimed to involve both families and the LGBTQI+ community.
