Tourisme Montréal inaugurated the summer season this afternoon at the Grand Quai du Port de Montréal.

In terms of hotel projections from June to September, an increase in demand of 2.2% is expected, supported by a 2% rise in supply compared to the same period last year. Regarding air traffic, the number is anticipated to surpass that of 2023 by 17% for international arrivals, 13% for US flights, and 9% for Canadian arrivals. 63,000 US travelers per week will land in Montréal, while 35,000 air tourists will arrive from France. Montreal-Trudeau International Airport will also introduce six new destinations this summer.

The arrival of ships at the Port of Montréal will also contribute to the increasing influx of visitors. 20 visiting vessels, will make 32 embarkations/disembarkations and 9 stopovers. These operations will bring a total of 65,000 passengers and crew members to the city, primarily consisting of luxury clientele. This surge of tourists from the St. Lawrence River has resulted in economic impacts of $17 million in 2023 alone.
