Nearly 1.4 million passengers and more than 13,100 flights perfectly encapsulate the twentieth anniversary of TAP Air Portugal’s route between Prague and Lisbon. A special Airbus A321neo in retro livery graced the celebrations at Václav Havel Airport Prague, where it was greeted with a traditional water salute by airport firefighters and a festive program at the gate.
The inaugural flight on the Prague – Lisbon route took off on 1 June 2004 with TAP Air Portugal offering three weekly frequencies initially. Over the years, the service expanded to 11 weekly flights in 2018-2019. Presently, the airline operates the route seven times a week, with passengers having the option of choosing from up to eight frequencies from June until the end of the summer season.
Between June and the conclusion of the summer season, TAP Air Portugal runs the Prague-Lisbon route on a weekly basis, with a total of eight flights. The choice of aircraft, whether an Airbus A321neo or an A320neo, is determined by the number of occupied seats.
