Turkish Airlines to Triple its 777 Freighter Fleet with New Order

Boeing and Turkish Airlines have announced a purchase agreement for four 777 Freighters in order to enhance the airline’s standing in the worldwide air cargo industry. This acquisition will bring Turkish Airlines’ total fleet of 777 Freighters to 12.

Turkish Airlines‘ acquisition of more 777 Freighters is set to assist the airline in meeting the increasing need for freight services, fueled by the rapid expansion of e-commerce and the necessity for efficient and dependable transportation worldwide. The additional freighters will allow Turkish Airlines to streamline its cargo operations, cut down on expenses, and ensure timely delivery of goods to destinations across the globe.

The Boeing 777 Freighter boasts the highest payload capacity of 102 metric tons and a range of 9,200 kilometers, making it the most capable twin-engine freighter in the world. With over 265 deliveries, it is the best-selling freighter airplane in Boeing’s history. Boeing also provides over 90% of the global dedicated freighter capacity, which includes both new production and converted airplanes. Turkish Airlines also operates a fleet of Boeing aircraft, such as the 777-300ER (Extended Range), Next-Generation 737, 737 MAX, and 787 Dreamliner.
