Ruleta Camacho-Thomas has been officially appointed Climate Ambassador for Antigua and Barbuda.
The country’s ambassador, Governor-General Sir Rodney Williams, presented her with her instrument of appointment yesterday. He commended the new ambassador and said she has an important role in shaping foreign policy regarding the nation’s climate change agenda, as well as in helping identify national priorities as these are communicated to the international community.
Tourism Minister Charles Fernandez, Director of Environment Diann Black-Layne, and Camacho-Thomas’ immediate family members, including her husband, daughter, and mother, were also in attendance at the brief ceremony.
