The WestJet Group announced addition of Heather Stefanson, former Premier of Manitoba, to its Board of Directors.

Chris Burley, Chairman of the WestJet Group’s Board of Directors, mentioned that Heather’s vast background in government and regulatory affairs will enhance the WestJet Group‘s connections with communities nationwide as they strive for significant growth to benefit all Canadians.

Stefanson’s political career commenced as a political advisor in Prime Minister Mulroney’s government. After being appointed to Cabinet in Manitoba in 2016, she took on various roles including Deputy Premier, Minister of Justice and Attorney General, Minister of Families, and Minister of Health. In 2021, Stefanson assumed the role of Leader of the PC Party and became Manitoba’s 24th Premier. Additionally, she led the Council of the Federation. With a wealth of experience in public policy development, Stefanson’s expertise will greatly benefit the WestJet Group Board.
